Psalm 4

The Righteous Man vs. The World

This is the first of 55 psalms that are composed “for the Conductor” (למנצח, lam’natzeach). We focus on this interesting word and discover that it has a military connotation. We also discover the three pursuits of ungodly people. We revisit some words used in the previous psalms as we also learn about:

  • רחב (rachav) = “to enlarge/widen” (Also the name of ‘Rehab’)
  • פלה (palah) = “to make a distinction”
  • רגז (ragaz) = “tremble”
