What does Amalek have to do with our ability to live a fruitful spiritual life? And is beauty really all that important? And how is Deuteronomy 28 an “evil” chapter?
Ki Teitzei ends with: “…you shall wipe out the memory of Amalek from under the heaven – you shall not forget!”
Ki Tavo begins with: “It shall be when you enter the Land that Adonai, your God, gives you …”
“you enter” = תבוא (tavo)
אבות (avot) = “fathers”
Exodus 28:2,40 And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty … For Aaron’s sons you shall make coats and sashes and caps. You shall make them for glory and beauty.
Deuteronomy 26:19 And that He will set you high above all nations that He has made, for praise and for renown and for beauty, and that you shall be a people holy to Adonai your God, as He spoke.
In the future, the Holy One, Blessed is He, will be a crown on the head of each and every righteous person, which may be understood as: He will return to them that very crown with which they crown God in their prayers. (Yaakov ben Asher)
Deuteronomy 27:2 And on the day you cross over the Jordan to the land that Adonai your God is giving you, you shall erect large stones and plaster them with plaster.
והקמת (va’hakeimotah) – Occurs 2x in Tanach:

Chapter 28 contains 676 letters.
676 = רעות (ra’ot) “evils” = 26 x 26 (or 26 x יהוה)
