In this lesson, we learn an unusual Hebrew idiom for expressing anger and how the resurrection is addressed in the daily Hebrew prayers. There is also an odd letter shin in Israel’s name in the Torah scroll that is worth discussing. We will also identify another dozen similarities between Joseph and Yeshua.
Genesis 44:18 Then Judah went up to him and said, “Oh, my lord, please let your servant speak a word in my lord’s ears and let not flare up your anger against your servant, for you are like Pharaoh himself.
ואל יחר (v’al yachar) 2x in Tanach:
Genesis 45:5 And now do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for a life-sustainer God sent me before you.
למחיה (l’mich’ya) = or “resurrection”
From the Shemoneh Esrei: “You are eternally mighty, my lord, the Resurrector [מחיה, m’chayeh] of the dead are You, with abundant power to save…”
Genesis 46:2 And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.”

RESOURCES:
“You are eternally mighty, my Lord, the Resurrector [מחיה, m’chayeh] of the dead are You, with abundant power to save. Who sustains the living with kindness, resurrects [מחיה, m’chayeh] the dead with abundant mercy, supports the fallen, heals the sick, releases the bound, and maintains His faith to those asleep in the dust. Who is like You, O master of mighty deeds, and who is comparable to You, O King who causes death and restores life [מחיה, m’chayeh] and makes salvation [lit. ‘Yeshua’] flourish! And You are faithful to resurrect [להחיות, l’ha’chayot] the dead. Blessed are You, Adonai, who resurrects [מחיה, m’chayeh] the dead.” – Shemoneh Esrei
