Chukat (Numbers 19-21)
Hidden in the Hebrew words and letters of this Torah portion are some amazing secrets concerning Messiah and how He conquered the serpent by His crucifixion.
Chukat (Numbers 19-21)
ת (Tuv) = “cross”
Numbers 21:7 And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against Adonai and against you. Pray to Adonai, that He take away the serpent from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.
נחש (nachash) = “serpent”
Numbers 21:8-9 And Adonai said to Moses, “Make a fiery [serpent] and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.
… נחש נחשת …
נחש + ת
John 3:14-16 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Numbers 23:23 For there is no serpent [נחש, nachash] in Jacob; no divination against Israel. Now it shall be said of Jacob and Israel, “What has God done?!”
