When you consider Paul’s appeal for us to be living sacrifices, you immediately think of Solomon, right? No? Well, you will after listening to this teaching about Solomon’s dedication of the Temple.
2 Chronicles 6:12-13 Then Solomon stood before the altar of Adonai in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands. Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the court, and he stood on it. Then he knelt on his knees in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.
Exodus 27:1-2 “You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide. The altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits. And you shall make horns for it on its four corners. Its horns shall be of one piece with it, and you shall overlay it with bronze.”
Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

כיור (kiyor) = “laver” or “stove”
Numbers 31:23 Everything that can stand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it shall be clean. Nevertheless, it shall also be purified with the water for impurity. And whatever cannot stand the fire, you shall pass through the water.
