A Psalm for the Sick and Depressed

We've all been there. You are sad, or ill, or both, and the whole world looks gloomy and you feel like everyone is against you. David felt the exact same way, at times. How is a person supposed to pray under such a burden of emotions? In this study we will see a subtle way in which David appealed to God as a child to its mother. We will also learn one the Bible's most important words - chesed (חסד).

The Righteous Man vs. The World

This is the first of 55 psalms that are composed "for the Conductor" (למנצח, lam'natzeach). We focus on this interesting word and discover that it has a military connotation. We also discover the three pursuits of ungodly people. We revisit some words used in the previous psalms as we also learn about:

רחב (rachav) = "to enlarge/widen" (Also the name of 'Rehab')
פלה (palah) = "to make a distinction"
רגז (ragaz) = "tremble"
